Fiskars Festivals

The Fiskars Summer Festival hosts LEAD! Foundation´s annual masterclass for young conductors and orchestra leaders. It was inspired by our desire to create a teaching programme and a supportive community – a hub for Finnish and international participants to meet, network, find support, practice and learn in the diverse and creative environment of Fiskars Village.

We are proud to present the 4th edition of the Fiskars Summer Festival (31 July - 6 August), which features guest conductor James Gaffigan, who will join Jukka-Pekka Saraste, acclaimed soprano Camilla Nylund and the Fiskars Festival Orchestra for a programme of Mahler, Schubert, Wennäkoski and more, for concerts in Fiskars and - for the first time - in Billnäs. Our Chamber Music Series will be held in various locations around Fiskars, throughout the week. Esa-Pekka Salonen and Dalia Stasevska will join the team in teaching the conductors’ masterclass this year, and we will also be offering mentorship and workshops for young string players and composers.

Directed by conductor and LEAD! founder Jukka-Pekka Saraste, the Fiskars Summer Festival is an international platform for established artists to pass on their knowledge and experience to the next generation of conductors from all around the world. This year we are again proud to present world-class artists, who will teach and perform alongside our talented young participants.

Our Lead! Artists have all taken part in the Fiskars Summer Festival and the Lead! Foundation Academy Masterclass.
